Spectacular hair styles at the Palm House

Congratulations to our hairdressing department for staging a spectacular hair show, at the Palm House Sefton Park, on 20th June.
The event featured the work of level 1, 2 and 3 students, who were inspired by the themes of ‘Eras’, ‘Gothic’ and ‘Jackson Pollock’ respectively.
The hairdressers collaborated with other college departments to enhance the audience’s experience, with the work of the Art and Textiles department colourfully displayed at the venue and the level three models wearing dresses made from some of the Jackson Pollock inspired fabrics created by our Level 2 Art and Design students. Plus, our catering students made cakes and customer service students welcomed guests as they arrived for the show.
Tutor Katherine Pulman said:
“It’s been a really enjoyable event and a great experience for our students. All of them should be proud of what they’ve achieved and I was really impressed with their practical application of the skills they have learnt this year.”
She added
“The show was enhanced by its spectacular venue – a huge thank you to the Palm House for allowing us to use it and create such a tremendous backdrop for our models.
Thanks, as well to everyone from the college community who worked with us on a memorable event.”
Former student Joanne Thompson judged the competition and awarded prizes to:
Level 1 – Justina Kairyte
Level 2 – Helen Maxwell
Level 3 – Jarnah Ismail
