Study Programme

All young people at the College follow a Study Programme – a personalised learning programme which supports your development and helps you to achieve your goals for work and life.

Your study programme will consist of a vocational study area, English & Maths, Employability & Work Experience and Enrichment.

Vocational Study Areas

Subjects available are:

Art, Design & Textiles

Business & Administration

Catering & Hospitality

Customer Service

Exercise, Fitness and Sport

Hairdressing

Health & Social Care

Horticulture

Information Technology (IT)

English & Maths

If you do not already have GCSE A*-C / 9-4 in English or Maths, you will need to continue lessons. Your level will be assessed before you join us and you will be put in to a class that’s right for you. Classes available include Everyday English and Maths, Functional Skills and GCSE.

Employability & Work Experience

If you are studying at Entry 3 or above, you will usually complete an employability qualification too. You will also be given the opportunity to complete a relevant work experience placement. The work placement will last for a minimum of six weeks and meet your needs and those of your employer.

Enrichment

You will be offered a termly choice of activities, which could include sport, art, job search or music.
