Supported Internships

A Supported Internship is a type of Study Programme specifically aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who have an EHC Plan and who need extra support to gain employment. The programme usually lasts for a year and consists of a work placement based at a partnering employer plus English, maths and employability qualifications personalised to each individual’s needs.

Supported Internships are designed to develop the skills and experience of young people with special educational needs (SEN) to enable them to move into sustainable paid employment upon completion.

Intern to Work

 

Greenbank College is one of the educational partners for the Intern to Work Liverpool project who are working together with employers to increase the number of young people with additional support needs in work.

We currently have interns working at Marriott Hotel, National Museums Liverpool, Holiday Inn, Liverpool City Council and  Tranmere Rovers. We are continually growing these links with employers to offer more supported internships from September 2019.
